New evidence!! Pizzagate was just the beginning!!

You thought Pizzagate was bad?! Wait till you read about Calzonegate!!

We all know about Pizzagate: the alleged pedophile sex-ring run from the Comet pizzeria in Washington D.C. Well, they doubled down and added an extra layer of cheese because this new breaking story is about Calzonegate. People who started to believe in Pizzagate closed themselves off from reality and disappeared inside the debts of a cheesy conspiracy. Some Pizzaheads attacked the pizzeria and demanded answers to their ludicrous questions, they folded themselves into a calzone, unable to reflect critically on the story.

…restaurant owner James Alefantis has received hundreds of threatening messages and phone calls from people who believed the story to be true.

“From this insane, fabricated conspiracy theory, we’ve come under constant assault,” Alefantis told the Times. “I’ve done nothing for days but try to clean this up and protect my staff and friends from being terrorized.”

One guy even brought a gun to the pizzeria and fired into the air. Luckily no-one was shot but it’s clear that online fake news stories can have an impact on the ‘Real’ world! It might seem funny to spread these stories, but please bear in mind that some people who really start to believe in them might act irrational (and bring guns to an innocent pizza-shop). So next time you hear someone talking about Pizzagate or some other crazy conspiracy, remind them of #Calzonegate!!
